The School of Practical Philosophy invites students and friends to join us in the outdoor patio at 29 Madison Avenue on Friday, July 16th at 7pm to enjoy our theatrical production of “THE PROPOSAL”. The patio accommodates twenty socially distanced audience members.
Sometimes called The Marriage Proposal this one act Chekhov play is a theatrical exaggeration and absurdity depicting the pettiness of Russian landowners who place the consideration of property and personal pride over love, romance and marriage.

Following on last season’s study of Book 1, the group study Book 2 of Laws. No prior knowledge of the text is necessary, just an open mind and a willingness to share your ideas and interpretations. The aim is to discover the relevance of Plato’s Laws in today’s society.
